Get a Library Card
City of Austin residents
Anyone who lives in or owns property in Mower County, MN is eligible for an Austin Public Library card.
Mower County residents
If you live in Mower County, you should register at the library closest to you (Austin, Brownsdale, Grand Meadow, or LeRoy). These cards are good for all Austin Public Library materials.
Minnesota residents residing outside of Mower County
If you live in Minnesota but outside of Mower County you are eligible to have your home library card activated so that you may use all of our non-digital services.
**Hotspots and select electronic resources are only available to Mower County residents**
Non-Minnesota residents
Non-Minnesota residents may purchase a library card for $40 per year.

Applications for library cards are available at the Circulation Desk and must be submitted in person.

Children under 16 years of age must have their parent or guardian with them to apply for a card.

To obtain a card you must provide identification that shows personal residency.

If your ID does not show your current address you must show something else (physical or digital) with your current address, such as:
